Pre-registration and the QR code scanner

Pre-registration lets guests fill in parts of the booth experience before they arrive — surveys, consent, contact details — so the queue moves faster on the day.

Important - Pre-registration makes an event Premium.

Set it up — both halves are required

1. Switch it on

1. Open your event and click Output.

2. Expand Pre-Registration (QR Code Scanner) and switch it on.

3. Set a Subject line for the email guests receive.

2. Add the stage

1. Click the Flow tab.

2. Add a QR Code Scanner stage and make it the first stage.

3. In Pre-registration, tick the stages guests should complete in advance.

Important - Switching it on without ticking any stages leaves guests an empty form. The Launchpad warns you: "No stages selected, so guests would see an empty form."

Tick the stages guests complete before they arrive.

Allow skipping

Tip - Leave it on for public events. Walk-ups will always outnumber pre-registrations, and turning it off means staff have to register them on the spot.

Share the link

1. Open the Launchpad.

2. Under Event access, find Pre-registration.

3. Use Copy link, or Show QR code for this link and Download QR code for print.

Tip - Put the link in the invitation email, not just on signage at the door. The whole point is that guests arrive already registered.

What guests see

1. They open the link and answer the questions you chose.

2. They get "Registration complete!" with a QR code and a short code.

3. They are told to screenshot it, or scan the QR code at the booth.

4. At the booth they scan or type the code, and the stages they already completed are skipped.

Note - Guests can use Register again if they need to start over.

Note - Pre-registration prepares the booth experience — it does not replace it. Guests still visit the booth for their photo.

Advanced settings

Collect AI surveys when available gathers AI-related survey answers during pre-registration too.

Before the event

Open your own pre-registration link, complete it, and take the resulting code to a Simulation test. Check the stages you ticked are genuinely skipped.
