What is GroupSense™?

Most AI photo tools are built for one person at a time. GroupSense changes that.

GroupSense allows multiple people to use Generative AI experiences at the same time — so when your guests step into the booth as a group, everyone gets the AI transformation together. Many competitors only provide AI experiences for one person at a time; GroupSense is how Pictor makes group AI work.

Under the hood, GroupSense is Pictor's proprietary technology that detects and preserves every individual face in a group shot — whether there's one guest or twelve — so the AI transformation respects each person instead of averaging everyone into one uncanny blur.

In plain English: your whole group gets the same AI style applied at once, and every face comes out looking intentional, not artificial.

When should you use GroupSense?

GroupSense runs automatically under the hood of any AI Photo style in Pictor, so you reach for it whenever your event has group shots — which is most events. A few examples:

GroupSense is built into every AI Photo style. There's no separate toggle — it's always on wherever AI Photo is available.

  2. Open the photo in Pictor and pick an AI Photo style from the library.
  3. Apply the style. Pictor uses GroupSense under the hood so every face in the group is preserved.
  4. Review and share or print as usual.

You don't need to tell Pictor how many people are in the shot, and you don't need to switch modes for groups versus singles. GroupSense handles both.

Tokens, quotas, and other things to know

GroupSense is an AI feature, so it draws from your token balance the same way AI Effects, AI Video, and other AI Photo styles do. A few specifics:

  • Token cost per GroupSense AI Photo is the same as a single-face AI Photo. Group shots don't cost more tokens just because there are more people in the frame.
  • There are no special GroupSense-specific caps — group size, resolution, and rate limits are the same as for any other AI Photo.
  • If you run out of tokens, AI-dependent features (including GroupSense-powered AI Photos) stop generating until you top up.

Quick FAQ

Does GroupSense work on single-person photos? Yes. GroupSense is the underlying technology that powers AI Photo, so single-person photos benefit from it too. The "group" in GroupSense refers to its ability to handle groups — it doesn't require a group to work.

Do I have to turn GroupSense on? No. It's always on wherever AI Photo is available. There's no toggle, setting, or mode to switch.

Do group photos cost more tokens? No. A GroupSense AI Photo costs the same number of tokens as a single-face AI Photo, regardless of how many people are in the frame.

Does GroupSense work offline? AI Photo (and therefore GroupSense) requires an internet connection. Pictor's offline-friendly features (Photos, GIFs, Boomerangs, Email/Text Sharing, basic printing) still work without connectivity.
