The countdown is the delay between a guest pressing the button and the photo being taken.

**Note -** Available on all plans.

### **Change it**

1. Open your template in the template editor.

2. Select the **Capture** element — on the canvas, or from **Layers**.

3. Set **Countdown seconds**.

4. Save the template, then save the event.

**Tip -** Three seconds suits one or two people. Use **10 seconds** for groups — people need time to arrange themselves, and a short countdown produces photos of everyone still moving.

**Tip -** Longer countdowns also help at loud events where guests do not hear the prompt straight away.

### **Test it**

Run a **Simulation test** from the **Launchpad** and go through a capture.

### **Not the countdown you meant?**

There is a second, unrelated countdown. **Countdown length** under **Booth behavior** on the START node controls how long a guest has to tap *"I'm still here"* before the booth resets to the beginning. That is the idle timeout, not the capture delay.
