*Printing involves two pieces of software: **Pictor**, and the **Print Partner App** on your computer. This article says which is which at each step.*

**Note -** Printing is available on all plans.

### **Before you start**

Install and open the **Print Partner App** on the Windows or Mac computer your printer is connected to. Pictor cannot find the printer unless the app is running.

### **In Pictor — connect**

1. Open your event and click **Output**.

2. Expand **Printing** and switch it on.

3. Pictor looks for the app — *"Searching for Print Partner…"*.

4. When it finds it, you will see **Connected to Print Partner**.

If it does not connect:

* Click **Retry connection**.

* If it still fails, click **Configure manually** and enter the **IP address** and **Port** of the

computer running the app.

**Tip -** Manual configuration is the fix on venue networks that block device discovery. Get the computer's IP address before you leave for the event and you will not be looking it up under pressure.

### **In the Print Partner App — set up the printer**

Everything about the printer itself is in the app, not in Pictor:

There you choose the printer, set the paper size to match your loaded media (4×6", 5×7", 6×8" or 2×6" strips), and set cutter behaviour, copy counts and auto-print. The gear icon opens the DNP driver settings.

### **Printers**

Dye-sublimation printers give the best results at events. **DNP** models — **DS-RX1**, **DS620**, **DS820** — are the most tested. **HiTi** also works well.

### **Printing from the Sharing Station**

If you want guests to print from a Sharing Station, enable **Print** as a sharing method. It needs the Print Partner App connected, the same as event printing.

### **Before the event**

**Tip -** Open the Print Partner App **first**, then Pictor. The connection is more reliable that way.

**Tip -** Run two or three real prints before guests arrive. You are checking the connection, the paper size, and the colour — all three fail in different ways.

**Tip -** Bring more media than you expect to use, and enable email or text delivery as well. If the printer jams, guests still get their photos.
