Pictor can cut your guest out of their background, so you can drop them onto a themed scene, a branded backdrop, or nothing at all. It works on captured photos and on AI-generated images.

**Important -** Using background removal makes the event **Pro**, whichever option you choose.

### **Add it to a template**

1. Open your event and click the **Flow** tab.

2. Open the **Choose Experience** stage and open a template.

3. Select the **Capture** element.

4. Open **Effects** and add **Cutout**.

**Note -** The effect is called **Cutout** in the editor.

**Note - Cutout** can only be applied to a still **Image** capture.

**Tip -** Cutout quality depends far more on your lighting than on any setting. An evenly lit guest cuts out cleanly; a badly lit one looks rough however it is processed.

### **On an AI image**

Add an **AI Output** element, choose your prompt, and apply **Cutout** to that layer. The effect works on the generated image rather than the original photo.

### **Using several captures**

Each capture element has its own settings. You can cut out one and leave another untouched in the same template — useful for a collage where one photo is the subject and another is scenery.

**Tip -** Add a **Blend** effect on top for a more finished look. Blend and Cutout can be used together.

### **If you have a real green screen**

Use the **Green Screen** effect instead. It is built for it, and guests get a background picker — *"Select a background"* — so they choose their own scene.

### **Good uses for it**

* A "greenless green screen" where there is no room for a physical backdrop

* Themed scenes matched to the event

* Collages that combine guests and scenery

* Venues where the only available wall is unattractive

### **Test it**

Run a **Simulation test** from the **Launchpad** and look at a real cutout. Edge quality varies with your lighting more than with any setting, and this is the only way to see it.

**Tip -** Even lighting on the subject matters more than anything else. A well-lit guest cuts out cleanly; a badly-lit one looks rough whatever you do.
