### **Create the event**

1. Go to **Events**.

2. Click **Create New Event**.

3. Choose how you want to build it:

| **Mode**        | **Use it when**                                                          |
| --------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Guided Mode** | You want the event fully set up before it runs. Five steps, in order     |
| **Quick Mode**  | You know where the settings live and just want the event on the calendar |

1. Fill in **Event Name** and the four schedule fields — **Start Date**, **Start Time**, **End Date**, **End Time**.

2. Click **Continue** (Guided) or **Save Event** (Quick).

Your event exists from this point. **Client** and **Project** are optional.

### **Finish setting it up**

In Guided Mode you work through four more steps: **Workflow Builder**, **Global Styles**, **Output Delivery**, and **Preview & Launch**.

Every step already has working settings, so **Continue** is a valid answer to any of them. Click **Finish**, then **Go to Launchpad**.

### **What your event can already do**

A new event is not empty. Before you change anything it has a working guest journey — intro, experience picker, capture, preview — plus email delivery, a public gallery and an event code.

### **Set the times correctly**

Your event opens and closes itself at the times you set. There is nothing to press on the day.

Guests arriving before your start time see *"This event has not yet started."* After your end time they see *"This event has finished."*

Set the schedule to the hours you will actually be on site, and give yourself a margin at each end.

### **Test it before the day**

Open the **Launchpad** and click **Simulation test**. Walk the whole journey as a guest would, and check the delivery actually arrives.

Run it on the device you will use at the venue, on the venue's network if you can. Most event-day problems are the network or the camera, and neither shows up when you test from the office.
